Does the RA Law on “Personal Data” hinder the activities of advocates while getting personal information about a person? Advocate Gevorg Gyozalyan did not face problems in practice. He says that “I have always conducted the main functions by the law on Information or the law on Advocacy and so far there was not a case in my practice of referring to the personal provisions and not providing information”, underlined the advocate.
The privacy protection of personal data is an important process, said the partner of “Legelata” law firm Hovhannes Vardanyan. He stated: “That should never be openly published, recently some websites did publish materials with phone numbers, car numbers, even the Passport number was mentioned, this is an infringement of the principle of personal data privacy. But the privacy should also provide some reasonable opportunities to get information, e.g. by the advocates, investigative, judicial and preliminary investigative bodies, Compulsory enforcement service, so that by saying privacy we don`t violate other people`s rights”.
