On 23.06.2014 at around 13:50 clashed occurred between the participants and the police during “Prevent the Increase of Electricity Prices” campaign in front of the Public Services Regulatory Commission. As a result policemen applied excessive force and exerted violence towards the citizens, including the member of the Armenian Young Lawyers Association, Ara Karagyozyan. Many citizens were arrested illegally and A. Karagyozyan was taken to “Grigor Lusavorich” hospital.
The Armenian Young Lawyers Association condemns such kind of actions of the Police and demands that the Head of the RA Police implement complete, objective and multilateral examination and to call to responsibility the police officers who made violations of law in compliance with the provision of law.
