Ivan Amelchanka is reported to have been arrested at his home and sentenced to 15 days of arrest. This information was uploaded to Facebook by journalist Aliaksandar Barazenka who has come to the prison in Akrestsina street today to leave a parcel for the youth activists kept there. He saw Ivan Amelchanka leaving a police car, reports “Viasna” Human Rights Center.
The motives behind the new arrest are unknown.
The police was searching after Ivan Amelchanka after the Chernobyl Way because of his poster “Musorok” (“The Fuzz”) but couldn’t arrest him until the activist came to the police office himself. Then he was sentenced to 15 days of arrest. Nevertheless, Ivan Amelchanka wasn’t released after the arrest but taken to the court right from the jail where he was sentenced to another 10 days of arrest. There is no information about why the oppositionist has been arrested this time.
