Оn 14 June, Judge Karapet Badalyan presided over the court hearing in the Anti-Corruption Court in the case of confiscation of properties and funds of alleged illicit origin from former RA Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan and 16 other persons related to him.
the Department for Confiscation of Property of Illicit Origin of the General Prosecutor’s Office filed a claim to the court to confiscate in favor of the Republic of Armenia from the former Minister of Territorial Administration of the Republic of Armenia, the former President of the National Assembly, the former Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan, his wife J.A., his son, daughters, and other persons related to him (employees, relatives and their spouses):
- 59 real estates, of which 15 are in Yerevan city, mostly in Kentron Administrative District, 12 in Mkhchyan community of Ararat marz, 10 in Narek community, 2 in Kotayk marz, Arzakan community, 6 in Tsaghkadzor community of Kotayk marz, 1 in Vayots Dzor marz, Jermuk community, 1 in Gegharkunik marz, Sevan community, 6 in Tavush marz, Dilijan community, 3 in Kotayk marz, Meghradzor community, 1 in Ararat marz, Marmarashen community, 1 in Ayntap community, Ararat marz, 1 in Arevabyur community, Ararat marz.
- 4 cars.
- Participations and shares of 20 companies.
- Market values of 9 properties alienated at significantly lower than market value: total: 1 billion 628 million 277 thousand 90 AMD.
- Right of claim arising from loans given to companies in the amount of 11 million 292 thousand 570 USD, 687 million 500 AMD and 3 million 117 thousand 680 Euros;
- 21 billion 202 million 67 thousand 797 AMD as the sum of the balance of illegal income and drams transferred to bona fide third parties or not identified, not supported by legal income.
Iravaban.net informs that Ilona Mirzoyan, the representative of “Carton Upak” Company operating in Russia, who was included as the 3rd person during the session, petitioned to postpone the court session, as the decision to involve the company in the case was received on 2 June.
The lawyer asked to postpone the session so that she could familiarize herself with the case materials. The judge granted the petition.
It should also be noted that at the previous session, the lawyer of Bagratuni Barseghyan, the leader of Hovik Abrahamyan’s bodyguard, presented a motion to challenge the judge investigating the case. The lawyer questioned the impartiality of the judge.
Karapet Badalyan rejected the presented motion.
