The World Health Organization considers that the risk of cholera at the global level is very high due to the increase in the number of outbreaks and their geographical expansion. According to Vesti.ru, this is stated in the report published on the website of the organization.
As noted, due to the growing number of outbreaks, their geographical expansion, the lack of vaccines and other resources, WHO assesses the risk of cholera as very high.
On 11 February, 2023, the latest data on the outbreak of the disease regarding the global situation with cholera was published. Since then, the situation has worsened further, with four more countries reporting cholera outbreaks. A total of 24 countries are currently reporting cases of cholera .
According to WHO, most of the countries in which cholera outbreaks are recorded are in the Middle East and Africa.
