Opposition students in Turkey have been sentenced to a total of 335 years in prison

Ermenihaber reports that 14 students who participated in the organized demonstrations against the acting rector of Bogazici University in Istanbul, targeted by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2021, were sentenced to 335 years in prison.

A day after the demonstrations, Erdoğan called them “terrorists”.

The court sentenced 12 of the students participating in the demonstrations to 23 years and 5 months, and the other two to 27 years and 5 months and 25 years and 10 months in prison.

They were charged with rebellion, depriving a person of liberty, obstructing the performance of duties.
