Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said that the first meeting between Turkish and Armenian special envoys on normalization of relations may take place in Moscow.
“The Armenian side offers to hold a meeting of special envoys in Moscow. We are in favor of direct contacts with Armenia without mediators. I hope that the special envoys of the two countries will draw up a road-map for dialogue, which will be useful for establishing further contacts. I hope that the positive signals voiced by the Armenian envoys will appear on the basis of concrete steps,” Çavuşoğlu said.
He noted that Ankara and Yerevan will clarify the exact date of the meeting between the special representatives of the two countries during the telephone conversations.
The Turkish Foreign Minister also noted that the Armenian-Turkish protocols of 2009 have lost their significance, at the moment the dialogue between the special envoys of the two countries seems more urgent.
