“Omicron” strain was found at 13 citizens in the Netherlands

In the Netherlands, 13 citizens from African countries have been diagnosed with a new strain of coronavirus, called “Omicron”, Associated Press reports.

A total of 61 people arrived in the country on several flights before the flight ban. All were isolated and tested.

At the same time, the Ministry of Health informed that the study of the other test samples is continuing, it is possible that more people infected with “Omicron” will be found.

The COVID-19 strain, dubbed “Omicron” by the WHO, was originally found in South Africa. Experts believe that it can be dangerous because it spreads much faster than other strains that scientists have discovered during the epidemic and contains a large number of mutations.

A new strain of coronavirus infection has been found, in particular, in Australia, Germany, Italy, Belgium, Great Britain, Israel and Russia.
