“Saribek was 6 years old when he decided to learn to play the drum; and he loved music very much; he lived with it. He opened a studio with a friend. He wanted to leave the army and choose the profession of “musician” and “programmer,” Saribek Mkrtchyan’s mother Lilit Nersesyan says. Saribek Mkrtchyan died in the Second Artsakh War.

He was drafted into the army on 26 January, 2019. He was a junior sergeant, a crew commander.

“When we were seeing them off, I told the children, return every last one without loss,” the mother says.

The mother says that her son has been involved in heavy battles since 27 September.

Now Saro’s 6-year-old sister is learning to play a drum. “I did not think that one day the sound of the drum would come out of our house again, I hope she will continue her brother’s work,” Mrs. Lilit says.

Saribek Mkrtchyan was born on 23 October, 2000. He died on 30 September, 2020 in the battles for the defense of the homeland.
