“Dad, I shall hit a “GRAD” in your honor”: Hovhannes fought against the enemy in a wounded state for 5 days

Hovhannes Alishyan, who died in the Second Artsakh War, is named after his uncle who died in the First Artsakh War.

“We looked for his birth impatiently to name him after my brother Hovhannes and give hi, my brother’s sirname. At last he was born and we were proud of the fact. I would ask, dear Hovik, what would you become when you grow up? And he would say, “Fist of all O will be soldier Mummy,” his mother Hasmik Alishyan told

He was on a Compulsory military service in Karvachar in 2016-2018.

Hovhannes Alishyan volunteered to go to war.

The father, Armenak Margaryan, says that he always told his sons to learn the history of the nation, which is why Hovhannes was very patriotic.

“I was always scared of this moment, because my brother was perished. I was always expecting during his service that I would be called to and toled to recognize my son,” the said mother.

The parents last talked to their son on 10 October. “Dad, I shall hit a “GRAD” in your honor” he told his father.

Hovhannes Alishyan was born on 10 August, 1998. He died in the battles for the defense of the homeland on 10 October, 2020.
