The OSCE is grateful to Russia for its participation in the work of the Minsk Group on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The statement came from OSCE Secretary General Helga Schmid at a press conference following talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
TASS reported.
“We are working within the framework of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs to promote a long-term settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” Schmidt said.
She expressed a desire to address “some other conflicts.” “We are working within the framework of the Minsk Group Co-Chairs to promote a long-term settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. And we will discuss the settlement process, which shows that the OSCE supports the mediation as a confidence-building measure,” Helga Schmid said.
Lavrov noted that he expects to exchange detailed views on the current state of the OSCE in all three baskets – political, economic-environmental and human rights.
“Conflicts settled by the OSCE are a big part of the problems. I mean Ukraine, Karabakh, Transnistria, as well as internal discussions on Transcaucasia. As they say in our country, there is work to be done,” he said.
