“He always wanted to be the first, he went in for sports since childhood, he was a boxer, he wanted to reach great heights,” Armine Khachatryan, the mother of Narek Khachatryan, who died in the Artsakh war said.
Narek Khachatryan was drafted into the army on 8 January, 2020, and was a Junior Sergeant.
Narek’s close friend Anna Badalyan says that he was a very good advisor. “He wanted to become a world-famous boxer so that everyone would know and love him,” Anna said.
According to his mother, Narek knew that the homeland was his mother, his brother, his grandmother, “He fought for his mother, grandmother and brother, I think every soldier fought for that,” the mother said.
Narek last spoke to his mother on 6 October.
“He said, Mom, don’t be sad, your son will come and go for two years, but he left irrevocably,” the mother said.
Narek Khachatryan was born on 8 July, 2001. He died in the battles for the defense of the homeland on 10 October, 2020.
