He knew the war would start: Artur received a lot of books as presents, he read Macron, Hitler, and Churchill

Artur Sukiasyan, who died in the Artsakh war, told his neighbor’s grandfather at a young age. “We will go and bring Masis together,” Arthur’s mother, Hranush Sukiasyan says.

Artur was drafted into the army on 23 January, 2020. He last spoke to his relatives on 28 October.

Artur was fond of reading, he mainly read the books of famous leaders, his classmate Ani Gabrielyan says that at school Arthur was first called a president, and then prime minister, and he should have become a leader.

Arthur Sukiasyan went in for karate. The coach says that Arthur was especially happy that he was able to beat two Azerbaijani athletes. “We have always said that all opponents should be treated equally, without excessive emotions, but in this case the excitement was obvious,” Coach Artsrun Misakyan said.

A few days ago, Iranian athlete  Ahmad Bagheripour presented his gold medal as a tribute to Artur Sukiasyan’s family.

According to his father, Gagik Sukiasyan, Artur was proud that he had become an Armenian soldier, he knew that he was serving in the victorious army, so he must win.

“He said that this conflict will be resolved only through war, they are just waiting for me and then to start,” Ani Gabrielyan says.

Artur Sukiasyan was born on 2 November, 2001, and died on 30 October, 2020.
