“Mantashov” Entrepreneurs Union, which unites more than 70 companies, issued a statement, which reads:

“In 2020 due to the new type of coronavirus and war Armenia’s economy suffered enormous losses having at least 8% decline. It’s related to the reduction of jobs, increase poverty number, social tension, declining of products and services competitiveness.

We believe that without eliminating the consequences of almost 10 months of quarantine, the extension of the quarantine for another 6 months, will paralyze the activities of tourism, restaurants, hotels, events and other spheres in Armenia, at the same time will exert severe psychological pressure on the society.

Today, more than ever, we must do everything restore the economy as soon as possible. At the same time, it should be noted, that the health system already has experience in facing the epidemic, and therefore proposes to repeal the government’s decision for extension the quarantine in the Republic of Armenia for another 6 months.”
