Today, on 9 December, the draft law on making amendments and additions to the Constitutional Law “On Parties” is being discussed in the National Assembly.
“Armenia’s recent history shows that in order to seize power through a group of people, one must first seize power within the party. Such a thing happened in 2007, after Andranik Margaryan’s death, when Serzh Sargsyan, in the true sense of the word, took over the Republican Party in a few weeks; with his loyal oligarchs, destroyed the relatively political part of that party, and brought the criminal oligarchy to the fore.” Independent NA deputy Arman Babajanyan said during his speech.
