Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan again made attacks on his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron, who, according to the Turkish leader, needs to be “checked” by doctors,  RIA Novosti informes

Earlier, Macron delivered a major speech on the fight against separatism in France. The head of state said that on 9 December a corresponding bill will be presented: it will be aimed at strengthening republican values, and the French authorities will pay special attention to teaching children. Macron also said that together with the Council of Muslims of France, it is necessary to create an organization that will build “enlightened Islam” in the country. According to him, it is necessary “to free Islam <…> from foreign influence and strengthen control over the financing of mosques.” In response Erdogan said, What is wrong with Macron with Islam and Muslims? The fact that the head of state treats millions of Muslims in his country in this way is primarily a loss of mind control. He needs to heal his psyche.”

The head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, called such statements by the Turkish president unacceptable. French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian also earlier condemned the insults of the Turkish leadership towards President Macron. He confirmed that France had recalled its ambassador from Ankara for consultations.

“The guy who is now leading France, gets up and goes to bed thinking about Erdogan. Let him look at himself. He really needs to get tested,” the Turkish president said, speaking in the city of Malatya. The broadcast was conducted on Twitter Erdogan.

He also reached out to ultra-right Dutch politician Gert Wilders, who posted on Twitter a caricature of the Turkish president. “And one Dutch deputy writes something about us. Know your place,” the Turkish leader said.
