We are the Authors of these Statistics: Nikol Pashinyan about the Situation in Hospitals

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan is holding a briefing after the meeting at the Commandant’s Office.

Narine Sargsyants, Counselor for Infectious Diseases of the Ministry of Health, Deputy Director of Treatment at the Republican Center for AIDS Prevention, and Laurent Papazian, Head of the Resuscitation Department at the “Nord” Medical Center in Marseilles,.

Nikol Pashinyan stated that despite the epidemic situation in Armenia, even superficial observations of social networks show that citizens behave in a pro-epidemic manner.

“On Saturdays and Sundays, we saw scenes on social networks about summer parties and mass pilgrimages. Now our figures show that wherever we have, as much as we can, they show contempt for anti-epidemic rules. We all need to restart our anti-epidemic behavior. Public administration must follow the rules in their field of activity. There should be not only markings everywhere, but also officials who follow those rules. The police must also show high discipline so that they do not ignore the violation. After all, overcoming this crisis depends on our collective will. The number of deaths from coronavirus in Armenia has already reached 430, and this process continues. Each of us must realize that if we do not follow an anti-epidemic rule on the spot, we are more likely to be sentenced to death. The scale of the disease is such that each of us must treat ourselves and the other person as contagious,” Pashinyan says.

According to the Prime Minister, the best way to overcome the epidemic is to achieve social solidarity, to observe the rules.

“123 people are in critical condition in the hospital, 529 people are in serious condition. 1739 patients have pneumonia and their condition may worsen at any time. We are the authors of these statistics,” he said.
