The Criminal Court of Appeal has completed the examination of the appeal against the decision of the Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan on the rejection of the motions of the second President of the Republic of Armenia, Robert Kocharyan’s defenders on the March 1 case to change Kocharyan’s pre-trial detention.
The sitting was chaired by Judge Arsen Nikoghosyan.
After hearing the positions and arguments of the defense attorneys, the accusation and the representatives of the aggrieved party, the court left to the deliberation room.
After returning from the deliberation room, the judge announced the decision. The motion of Robert Kocharyan’s defenders was satisfied, the second president of the Republic of Armenia was released from custody, and a bail in the amount of 2 billion drams was applied to him.
