In Armenia, however, speculation on the subject continues. The media links the recall of the RA Ambassador to Brazil Ashot Galoyan with Anna Hakobyan’s visit to Brazil. The papers say the ambassador was fired for failing to cancel the first ladies’ meeting after learning of a Brazilian president’s being infected with a new type of coronavirus. According to journalists, the appointment of Orientalist Armen Hakobyan to the same post raises doubts.

It should be noted that the process of recalling ambassadors and appointing new ones is a long lasting and goes through various stages. An accreditation application has been sent in advance for the appointment of a new ambassador to Brazil for the right of appointment and approval of the ambassador from the government. This process is followed by a presidential decree, followed by the recall of our ambassador there. The above process takes months, so the possibility to make such a decision in one day is excluded.
