The Court of General Jurisdiction of Yerevan, presided by Judge Artush Gabrielyan, ruled to arrest businessman Samvel Mayrapetyan. Mayrapetyan’s lawyer Lusine Sahakyan informed this to Iravaban.net.
Notably, Mayrapetyan was allowed to leave the country for treatment abroad, but was not present at the call of the body conducting the proceedings, and the persons who provided personal guarantees were unable to ensure his presence at the SIS. He was wanted since 3March.
Mayrapetyan is accused of $ 7 million bribery. The SIS allowed him to travel abroad for treatment in January 2019.
