The Ombudsman has launched an investigation into the issue of termination of maternity care financing in Yeghvard and Achajur.

In particular, the Ombudsman instructed the staff to investigate complaints by citizens about the closure of maternity hospital, including the fact that closing the maternity ward would make access to health care more difficult. Complaints by relevant medical personnel were also examined.

The Ombudsman, in view of these complaints, has sent a written request to the Ministry of Health and the relevant regional administrations.

The directions and principles of the state policy envisaged in this field were also clarified.

Earlier, the Ombudsman discussed the issue with the Maralik maternity ward with the Minister of Health and the governor of Shirak, as well as sent a written inquiry.
