Under the Condition of Utter Distrust of the Three Members of the Corruption Prevention Committee, I do not consider my further Tenure Expedient: Edgar Shatiryan

On the one hand, with the utmost confidence of the National Assembly (related to my personal and professional qualities) and, on the other, with the utter distrust of three members of the CPC, I do not consider my further tenure as a member of the CPC to be expedient. Edgar Shatiryan reported this on his Facebook page.

“Existing realities are incompatible with my notions of professionalism and teamwork.
I cordially congratulate Haykuhi Harutyunyan, the newly elected Chair of the Corruption Prevention Committee wishing her only success.

I am grateful to the ruling “My Step” faction of the National Assembly for nominating me as a member of the Corruption Prevention Committee and the National Assembly for giving a vote of confidence to me,” he said.

We had reported earlier, on 19 November, the National Assembly had  elected the members of the CPC. Today, on 26 November, the committee elected its Chair.

Haykuhi Harutyunyan, representative of the “Bright Armenia” faction, and Edgar Shatiryan, representative of the “My Step” faction, nominated themselves as candidates for the Chair of the Committee..

As a result of the voting, the committee decided to elect Haykuhi Harutyunyan as Chair.
