Today, on 23 January, the Court of General Jurisdiction of Shirak Region should continue the consideration of the criminal case brought against Eduard Malicyan accused of large-scale fraud and extortion.
According to the indictment, from January to October 2011 the accused demanded and received from the aggrieved Christine Mikaelyan 1,068,500 AMD, “Nokia” mobile with the cost of 40,000 AMD and jewelry with the cost of 1.138.000 AMD, reasoning that he had to give a bribe to a judge for his release from the jail and for paying off his debt to his non-existent uncle. Generally his actions caused pecuniary damage of total 2,246,500 AMD to C. Mikaelyan.
It should be mentioned that E. Malicyan got acquainted with the aggrieved via Internet, had exchanged photos for more than a year and gave her vain promises.
The court session was delayed because of the absence of the prosecutor.
