Today, at the meeting with journalists, Mushegh Shushanyan member of the advocate’s group for the defense of “Sasna Tsrer” group told that the investigation body had not presented any proof on deciding the issue of applying preventive measures in the court.
“On the occasion of taking hostages, the testimonies of three medical workers had been presented. Based on the description of any of the testimonies, it was impossible to conclude that a specific person, by using weapon, had taken hostages medical workers and kept them under threat of weapon. In addition, the medical workers were questioned at night, which is a violation of criminal procedural norms.
As for the proposed accusations, according to Articles 235 of the RA Criminal Code, the advocate said: “It is a fact that none of the group members who had left the territory of the Police Patrol Service Regiment, had gun or ammunition, which is a factor of excluding criminal responsibility.”
