Today in the morning, MP Edmon Marukyan applied to the Prime Minister with a letter, recommending to continue the optimization process of the government and to reduce the number of deputy governors. The MP wrote on his Facebook account:
“Specifically in 2003, in the times of forming coalitions, it was decided to the number of the deputy governors shall be increased. Now, instead of one deputy many of the governors have 2 or 3 deputies. Aragatsotn, Shirak, Syunik and Vayots Dzor governors have 2, whereas Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Kotayk and Tavush governors have 3 deputies. Each of them at the expense of the Community budget has secretaries, drivers, and attached vehicles, etc.”
Increase of the number of deputy governors is not justified in any way. Therefore, I propose to continue the reforms and reducing the number of deputy governors with their staff, leaving only one deputy governor in each province.
