Article 4 of the RA Law on Citizen’s Passport provides, “the right to obtain a passport and the validity period of the passport.”
Pursuant to this Article, the citizen receives passport on volunteer basis, regardless of age. Validity period of the passport of the citizens under the age of 16 is 3 years. Validity period of the passport for the citizens over 16 years of age is 10 years.
In addition, the male citizens under 16 years of age and those over 16 that are of pre-military age are provided the passport before reaching the conscription age. In case of their reaching the conscription age the passport is issued for the term of deferment of military service age.
