His Holiness Catholicos Aram I of the Holy See of Cilicia has referred to the protest actions against the rise of electricity tariffs that took place in Armenia during the past week. “In this situation we think that it is not right to remain silence. We are Concerned. We are concerned for the strengthening of our homeland, our unity, the bait of the new demand of or national claim and the nationwide requirement to giving a new impetus to these shall become a national concern of our people. Armenia is not only the land, it is also and especially the nation with its statehood. Our expectation is that the leaders of our nation listen to our people in Armenia, follow people’s expectations, needs, and requirements. At the same time we expect that our people in turn will listen to the concerns and approaches of the state authorities that are elected by the people,” Aram A. Catholicos said.
Catholicos of Cilicia applies to the people and the authorities to think jointly about the supreme interests of our nation, people and state. “Empowerment of the Homeland shall be the utmost objective of our people. What to do, how to more strengthen the grounds of statehood of our country and further improve the life conditions of our people.
