At the session of the UN Security Council, Dmitry Polyansky, the First Deputy of the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation at the UN, said regarding the situation in Artsakh, that despite the difficult situation, the Russian peacekeepers continue to conscientiously fulfill their mission and do everything to protect the civilian population.

He mentioned that at the moment the necessary help is being provided to the people of Artsakh.

“The Russian Federation continues to play a leading role, supporting the process of normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” Polyansky said, adding that they are most interested in the resolution of the situation and that the Russian Federation will do its best to ensure stability in Nagorno-Karabakh and the lives of its residents.

According to Dmitry Polyansky, a road map should be developed to “integrate the population of Nagorno-Karabakh into the constitutional order of Azerbaijan”.

“Russian peacekeepers will actively support this process. The security and rights of Armenians are of great importance. There is no alternative to the Russian peacekeeping mission, we intend to continue the work in all directions, on which the three leaders have agreed,” the Russian representative said.
