RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan writes on his Facebook page:
“I am shocked by the news of the explosion in Beirut and its aftermath. I offer my condolences to the relatives of the victims and wish the injured a speedy recovery.
I express my support to the Armenians of Lebanon, the brotherly people and the State of Lebanon.”
Notably, on 4 August, a powerful explosion took place near the Lebanese naval base near the port of Beirut.
According to Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab, the cause of the tragedy that took the lives of more than 70 people is the improper storage of 2,759 tons of ammonium nitrate over six years.
It is reported about 78 victims, about 4000 wounded.
