The first case on illegally depriving children of their parents known to advocate Marat Kostanyan was recorded some 40 years ago.
The lawyer told today, on 4 February, during a press conference organized by the mothers of the “Armenian Mothers” movement created by Haykuhi Khachatryan, who is looking for her child.
He wondered how the National Security Service of Armenia had not received any operative information on such crimes for nearly 40 years, when he himself regularly reported on the problem through the media.
“So they are interested in expanding this painful, scary, criminal business because they are involved in that business. I have repeatedly stated, yes, the mafia of child-selling and all the above-mentioned phenomena in Armenia is powerful and the tangles of our country’s law enforcement, other governing bodies, including local government bodies, civil registration bodies, and all civil status acts registration bodies are spread there. Razmik Abrahamyan is just a performer, he is the head of the so-called “dealer gang”, the “don”. I was the first to name him ‘Don’,” Marat Kostanyan said.
