The Kotayk Region Court of General Jurisdiction has given a verdict on 2 September according to which Vardan Petrosyan will carry his 5-year prison sentence in open mode.
Iravaban.net was informed about this by Petrosyan’s lawyer Nikolai Baghdasaryan. “The court has decided that its decision has come into force and has ordered to enforce the punishment,” said the lawyer. According to him, there has been no information about placement so far and once it becomes available Vardan Petrosyan will carry his punishment outside the establishment.
As for the moment, the actor is placed in a temporary house where he is waiting for the decision of RA Penitentiary Department Commission.
We would like to remind you that on 29 January 2015 the Court of First Instance sentenced Vardan Petrosyan to 5 years in prison depriving him from his driving license for a 2-year period.
The prosecutor and the successors of the victims had filed a cassation appeal regarding punishment and lawsuit but the Court of Cassation had left the verdict of the Court of First Instance unchanged.
