There is an important point for pregnant women in RA Government decision N. 1024-N.
In case of pregnancy and delivery the women are given sick-leave certificates from the consultation doctors, and if there are no such doctors, the obstetrician- doctors of the general medical establishments hand them. And if there are no such specialists the sick-leave certificate is given by the doctor carrying out general reception.
In this case one certificate is given, and in case of hard delivery and delivering more than one children a new certificate is given as a continuation of the previous one, respectively with the terms of 15 and 40 days, also mentioning the series and number of the previous certificate. The general period of the terms of the temporary sick-leave as a result of pregnancy and delivery cannot surpass 180 calendar days.
On and after the 154th day of the pregnancy in case of early delivery and not being in a pregnancy leave the sick-leave certificate is given only for the period of postpartum vacation. Up to the 154th day of the pregnancy (including medical and social indication) and in case of artificial or spontaneous cessation a sick-leave certificate is given for the whole period of temporary disability.
For the period of delivery leave a sick-leave certificate is given in the case when the child was born dead or died after the birth. In last cases the woman is given a sick-pay.
