From March 17, 2015 the law on “Breastfeeding Promotion and Regulation of Infant Food Marketing” works which aims to ensure the encouragement of the children’s and infants’ healthy and safe breastfeeding, by the children’s food and the regulation of the turnover of the related items.
The terms of additional food providing to the child is provided by this law. The children can be provided additional food only based on their physiological needs and in other cases feeding the children with additional food is forbidden. The law also provides the legal regulation of the baby food advertising.
The law also provides the demands of labels of the children’s food and other related items (providing of the children’s food to the consumers and (or) the means and items for feeding child, including feeding bottles or artificial nipples for calming the child) and other legal provisions.
