Is it possible to have the complete legislative package on probation service by the end o 2015?
According to the Deputy Minister of Justice Suren Krmoyan the department has no other option. “It is the deadline which was determined by the Minister based on the relevant legislative acts. Of course, I agree with the opinions in the media, this is a fairly short time. We understand that it is quite difficult to implement the mentioned actions in such a short timeframes. Therefore, we must make a serious effort in the upcoming months to finalize the legislative package,” Mr. Krmoyan said in the interview with Iravaban.net.
He added that the Ministry has an agreement with the Council of Europe, according to which they should provide the package for the international expertise in early June, in ored to have time to get the results improve the package and to provide it to the Government in July – August, and after that to the National Assembly. “We have carried out a serious preparatory work. The pilot programs are being implemented. We shall have an opportunity to conduct n electronic monitoring starting July,” Mr. Krmoyan added.
