Svetik Zalyan was displaced as a result of the 44-day war of 2020.
Within the framework of Iravaban.net‘s “Legal Problems of Artsakh Armenians in Armenia,” series she says they left in their robes: “The Turks came and reached Hadrut, they told us to get out quickly. We also left in our robes, leaving half of our documents behind and taking half with us. We had built new houses and left them behind. We left 100 cows. We left 40 beehives.”
Our interviewee tells that her sons and grandchildren participated in the war.
“For 44 days until it ended, both me and my husband “died”. Then my grandson called and said, “Grandma, don’t cry.” We left so much property behind, they didn’t compensate us with a single coin,” tells Mrs. Svetik.
Now she wants to obtain citizenship of the Republic of Armenia, but problems have arisen.
