Today, the Founding Parliament Civil Initiative circulated an announcement that at 6:35 in the morning around 20 representatives of the enforcement bodies came to the building of the the representatives of Founding Parliament initiative (5/5 Alek Manukyan street). They introduced themselves as representatives of the National Security Service, the Special Investigation Committee and Police Officers. They ye were led by Roman Sargsyan, the Senior Investigator of the Investigation Committee.
Shortly before Iravaban.net learned from the Investigative Committee that as a result of joint measures of the RA NSS and the IC they prevented organization of mass disorders on 24 April, which were to be held in the places of places of public events.
According to the source, as a result of the undertaken measures it was revealed that a group of individuals taking into account the fact that on 24 April 2015, in places of the events that would be organized on the occasion of the 100thh commemoration of the Armenian Genocide, intended to organize mass disorders. They were calling to people not to fulfill the requirements of the government representatives on that day, and if necessary to apply violence and turn to struggle.
In addition to the fact that the intention to use the public event organized on the occasion of commemoration of the victims of genocide to their interests mildly speaking are far from the boundaries of morality; such activities also contain alleged intention to organize mass riots which is punishable under the RA Criminal Code. Thus the RA Investigative Committee’s department on Especially Important Cases has initiated a criminal case under the requirements of Article 35-225 of the RA Criminal Code. Investigation is in process.
Aimed to reveal all circumstances of the alleged perpetration of crime, the operative officers of the RA NSS are carrying out the necessary investigative and operational activities. In addition searches are carried out in some locations as well.
