On February 13 the next sitting of the NA Standing Committee on Defense, National Security and Internal Affairs moderated by Koryun Nahapetyan was held.
After approving the agenda the Committee in the first reading debated the package of the RA draft laws “On the Status of the Military Units and Military Institutions” and “On Education” submitted by the RA Government.
The RA Deputy Minister of Defense Ara Nazaryan has informed that the adoption of the legislative package is conditioned by the necessity of the legislative regulation of the activities of the military units of the Ministry of Defense, military-medical, military-educational, as well as cultural and information institutions functioning in the system of the Ministry. Mr Nazaryan proposed to give a status of state institution to the abovementioned ones, and to his observation the military units will be created by the Minister’s order, and the military-medical, military-educational, cultural and information institutions functioning in the system of the Ministry will be set up by the decision of the Government.
The package of the draft laws was endorsed to be included in the draft laws of the agendas of the seventh session of the NA fifth convocation and the upcoming four-day sittings.
