The Special Investigation Service of the Republic of Armenia has instituted a proceeding against the criminal case launched with regard to the secret theft of other individual’s property committed by the Senior Policeman of the National Security Service of Yerevan city Administration of the Police of the Republic of Armenia Eduard A. and the citizen Onik M. in accordance with Paragraph 1.1 of Part 3 of Article 177 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. The preliminary investigation revealed that for the purpose of repaying their debts the police officer Eduard A. and the citizen Onik M. having reached a preliminary agreement committed various kinds of theft from the citizens of Islamic Republic of Iran living in Yerevan. Thus, On July 12, 2014 in the midnight Onik M. and Eduard A. subject to their preliminary agreement illegally intruded into the apartment of Rena M. and secretly stole household items by causing her a great amount of material damage in the amount of 200.000 Armenian drams.
In addition, Onik M. on September 1, 2014, at about 1 AM illegally intruded into another apartment and secretly stole household items, clothes, a golden ring belonging to Safar J. who was a citizen of Islamic Republic of Iran by causing her a great amount of material damage in the amount of 600.000 Armenian drams.
In the summer of 2014 on different days with an intention of committing secret thefts Eduard N. and Onik M. illegally intruded into the apartments of other Iranians but failed to accomplish the offense for the reasons beyond their control.
Charges were brought against the police officer of the Republic of Armenia Eduard A. and the citizen Onik M. in accordance with Paragraph 1.1 of Part 3 of Article 177, Paragraph 1.1 of Part 3 of Articles 34-177 and Paragraph 1 of Part 2 of Article 177 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia and an arrest as a measure of restraint was determined in their regard.
The preliminary investigation is underway.
