The Court of the General Jurisdiction of Kotayk marz is considering a case where Karen Harutyunyan is charged in forcing his sister and her children to begging.
Karen Harutyunyan was charged with the fact that he and his wife Hayarpy Sargsyan with mutual prior agreement used his sister’s Anush Harutyunyan’s minor children Varduhi Harutyunyan (DoB 1999) and Ashot Harutyunyan (DoB 2002) who lived in the same house with them and having the intention to exploit them, forcedly and with threats and initially beeting them forced to beg in the streets in the period of 2012-2013.
In addition Karen Harutyunyan used the money which the children earned through begging for his own family needs.
That is Karen Harutyunyan committed a crime under Article 132.2 Part 2, points 1, 2 and 4. In addition during the course of 2008, Karen Harutyunyan took as an advanced payment 7000 USD from Narine Ghazaryan asw if for selling the flat in Abovyan city, which he inherited from his parents. Further the contract was annulled, but Karen Harutyunyan had already spent 5000 USD from the sum.
He also used the sum earend by his sister’s sisters to pay back the debt. As a result his sister Anush Harutyunyan was paying him 3000 AMD a day, which she and her children earned through begging, and thus Karen Harutyunyan completely paid back his debt to Narine Ghazaryan.
