Yerevan Department of Investigation Committee initiated a criminal case on the fact of the car accident with the Australian citizen Gaye Joshary, which took place on 26 December 2014, at 05:30 in front of the building 42A on Mashtots Avenue of Yerevan City. The victim with bodily injuries was taken to “St. Grigor Lusavoritch” Medical Center, the Investigation Committee informs.
On 5 January 2015, a criminal case was initiated under the requirements of Article 242 Part 1 and Article 244 of the RA Criminal Code. Preliminary investigation is in process.On 7 January 2015, the investigating authority received information that on the same day at 01:30, Gaye Joshary without regaining consciousness died in “St. Grigor Lusavoritch” Medical Center. On the same day the forensic examination of the body was appointed.
As a result of activities in the framework of the preliminary investigation the identity of the driver was disclosed. The Central Department of the RA Police has been instructed to find the driver and the car involved in the accident and to bring the driver to the investigating authority. A number of individuals including those who accompanied the foreigner till the moment of the accident have been questioned. The preliminary investigation is going on. Measures are being untaken to ensure objective and thorough investigation of circumstances of the case.
