Iravaban.net learned from the RA Police that as a result of heavy snow and storm as of 12:00 on 8 January, Vardenyats Pass and Ashotsq-Tashir Republican highway are closed.
“Due to poor visibility Aparan-Artik-Aragats, Sevan-Dilijan, Gyumri-Ashotsq roads are impassable. There is snowstorm on Tigranashen (Kyarki) Pass. The visibility is almost absent. There is black ice On Kathy Pass, on the road section Gavar Martuni. It is storm in Ashotsk, Bagramyan, Talin, and Sevan regions, and wind in Gyumri and Meghri.ng, wind. It is snowing in Kapan, Meghri, Chambarak, Sevan, and Yeghvard, in Kotayk Marz, Hrazdan, Armavir marz, Ashtarak, Aparan, Spitak, Aragats, Vanadzor, Maralik, Talin, Artik, Ashotsk, and Dilijan. In order to ensure safety on the roads the cleaning works is being carried out on the roads of the republic. Police provides help to the drivers who are blocked on the roads as a result of heavy snow.
Motorists are urged to be extremely vigilant and attentive, and use the mentioned roads in only absolutely necessary.”
