Ara Ghazaryan about the most important event in 2014

International law Expert Ara Ghazaryan considers that the most important achievement in 2014 was the 2 April decision of the Constitutional Court, where the Court declared the controversial the provisions of the law on accumulative pension.

“For the first time the NA fractions were able to come to political unity, resulting in the the complaint to the Constitutional Court, then to the Constitutional Court decision, which led to a political decision, that is the resigned the prime minister. We see how democracy works, people are able to achieve their will,” Ara Ghazaryan said and added, “Another thing is that after that the decision was abused and its nature distorted, it is a pity.”

As to the New Year, Mr. Ghazaryan said that he celebrated it with his family in Yerevan. At the same time, he opposed the government’s decision, to set 12 days holiday, “In which developed democratic countries do the people have a 12 days vacation for, just for the New Year or Christmas holidays? I believe a few days to rest is enough.” Mr Ghazaryan emphasized.
