Today Ara Zohrabyan spke about the advocate –prosecutor-judge relations and mentioned that the advocate should be courageous, “We try to see the problem in ourselves. We say, advocate, you should not be a mediator that is we have to eliminate mediation practice in ourselves, because if you are a mediator then you are dependent. In addition, we see a problem in the court. Courts, purely procedural sense, should be above and beyond the prosecution and advocacy. In our practice the prosecution puts the equality sign between it and the judges, which is a mode of thinking which comes from the soviet days. In the past, before the beginning of the court session, the prosecutor drank coffee with the judge in the judge’ room, while the advocate was waiting in the corridor.” Ara Zohrabyan said.
The President of the RA Chamber of Advocates informed that in 2015 the Chamber sees its foremost objective to reveal the advocates that are involved in corruption risks and to isolate them from the advocates’ community.
