Today the Court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash communities continued the trial on the case “Shant Harutyunyan and friends”, and the defense party requested to restart the judicial investigation process.
Shant Harutyunyan`s, Vardan Vardanyan`s and juvenile Shahen Harutyunyan`s advocate Inessa Petrosyan mentioned in her request that the defense party obtained a video at the end of the judicial investigation process that is of great importance for the case. The court rejected this intervention stating that the advocate did not present any details on the video. Inessa Petrosyan said that the video relates to the announcement by Serzh Sargsyan that Shant Harutyunyan and friends should be convicted.
Afterwards the advocate requested to restart the judicial investigation by inviting RA President Serzh Sargsyan to the court for being questioned. Advocate Ara Zohrabyan stated. “Mr President might be aware of certain circumstances that are of great importance for resuming the court investigation. There exists an abuse of official powers in the activities of the President. Maybe he was present at the place of accident and saw something”.
This request was rejected as being not-relating to the case and unimportant for the court.
