Today Shant Harutyunyan`s, Vardan vardanyan`s and Shahen Harutyunyan`s (minor) lawyer Inessa Petrosyan was willing to make an announcement at the Court of general jurisdiction of Kentron and Nork-Marash communities in Yerevan, in relation to the speech of Serzh Sargsyan, but the presiding judge postponed the court sitting.
After the sitting Mrs Petrosyan stated that on 23 September Serzh Sargsyan payed a working visit to the USA, taking part in the 69th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. During the visit he made a speech, also referring to Shant Harutyunyan. “He was asked a question on his approach towards Shant Harutyunyan`s case, and he answered – if in your country somebody commits a crime, he should be condemned, isn`t he?”, mentioned Mrs Petrosyan, adding “We are in the final stage, and the president announces that a person should be convicted, it was about this group. He certainly violated the principle of the presumption of innocence, and in fact preordained the outcome of the case` putting pressure on the court”.
