“The independence, professionalism and accountability enforcement of Armenia`s judicial system”

The RA Minister of Justice Hovhannes Manukyan took part in the official launch of the joint program of the European union and The Council of Europe – “The independence, professionalism and accountability enforcement of Armenia`s judicial system”. It is aimed at supporting Armenian authorities in enforcing the independence, professionalism and accountability of Armenian judicial system in the framework of the strategic plan of RA legal and judicial reforms of 2012-2016. The Minister said a welcome speech on the occasion of the launch of the program on reforms and stated that having worked as a judge for 10 years he understands this system, its problems and ways of resolution very well. According to him there is no work without a problem, and naturally those problems should be recorded, raised by the civil society representatives, and they will be solved. the Minister assured that the RA Government pays much importance to the effective program implementation. 

Through 2 years of the program action, the RA Ministry of Justice, judicial system, Academy of Justice and School of Advocates will be provided support in development of legal acts, as well as in the institutional and capabilities development of these establishments. The program is co-financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe.

First Deputy to the RA Minister of Justice Arsen Mkrtchyan, Head of the CoE Office in Yerevan Oleksandr Pavlyuk. Head of the EU Delegation in Armenia Traian Hristea and others took part in the event.
