On 30 June hundreds of citizens gathered in front of Harsnaqar restaurant to light candles for the memory of Vahe Avetyan.
The participants were remembering the killed officer with candles in their hands. Many were carrying posters with words “I am Vahe Avetyan”, “You shall not get away”. Further the candle lighting action for remembrance grew into complaint action and the participants tried to enter the territory of Harsnaqar restaurant, were a regular wedding party was going on. The participants did not manage to enter the restaurant which was protected by the guards. The people decided to meet on 1 July in front of the President’s seat and continue the action.
Currently the Facebook is full with condolences expressed by the politicians, members of political parties, scientists and ordinary citizens. The social networks have posted Vahe’s photos.
Organizers urge media and journalists to continue covering the issue and demanding fair trial, termination of Harsnaqar restaurant complex and to call to the RA leaders to evaluate the occurrence.
The members of Facebook group demand termination of Harsnaqar restaurant, as well as termination of Ruben Hayrapteyan’s National Assembly mandate. They also call to the public to turn Vahe Avetyan’s funeral ceremony into a protest action.
