“I had been drawing since the 5th-6th grade. It wasn’t a random choice, because this kind of activity existed in our family; my mother and her sisters were carpet weavers when they still lived in Persia.
It was already clear that I should follow this path, because if you enter Kochar’s studio at the age of 13-14, it’s impossible to deviate from your path,” artist Shahen Aslanyan told Iravaban.net in a conversation.
He noted that he was offered painting and sculpture, but he chose applied arts: “I believe this is hard work that brings only pleasure.”
