“Mom, my kids got burned, I couldn’t do anything.” Arsen’s last call was on 27 October, he told his mother, “I аm going to a good place”

“Let’s preserve our mother tongue,

Because only this will remain,

This is what should help us, should guide us forever,

Force the impossible, return the irreversible.”

Arsen Kirakosyan, who died in the 44-Day War of 2020 wrote these lines.

“He had a notebook, but we do not know what he did with it before going to the army. We couldn’t find it, his girlfriend has compiled a book “Timeless” from his drafts,” Arsen’s mother, Maro Davtyan said, within the framework of “Immortal Victims of the Artsakh War” series of Iravaban.net.

Sergeant Arsen served in the occupied Republic of Artsakh, in Martuni. According to the mother, her son never complained about his service. He had received a letter of recognition for good service.

“Even during the war, until 25 October, he talked laughing. His two elder brothers wanted to go, he said: everything is normal, you do not need to come. Now we understand that he did not want his brothers to go through that hell. He called and said that he should move to Fizuli with his soldiers. He used to call his soldiers “my kids”. He said, “I have to take my kids to Fizul” and then an explosion was heard. We searched for him for two days, he was nowhere, then he called and said that his kids were in the car during the explosion and they were all burned. He was crying and saying, “Mom, my kids got burnt, I couldn’t do anything.” After that, he became rude and angry. He said, “My kids took care of me all night so that I would be healthy, to be near them, they gave me herbal tea, and in the morning they were burnts.” He had already reached Fizul, he called, I said: Arsen, your voice is somewhat strange, he said: Mom, it is raining, I said: it is sunny here, he said: Mom, there is a hail of bombs. “I said, ‘Why did you call?’, Escape. He said, ‘Where should I run? There is no place,'” Arsen’s mother said.

The son managed to save the soldier’s life, took out the wounded man from the battlefield, took him to the hospital, and asked his brothers to find his relatives. This man has survived.

The last call was on 27 October. He said: Mom, I am going to a good place. The mother says that she realized that he was going to die.

Arsen opened fire above so that the soldiers below could retreat. He fired all night, inflicting many losses on the enemy. At dawn, the enemy spotted Arsen. They urged him to leave, but he did not go, he shot until his last breath and said: let me be the last victim.

Arsen’s body was not found for 100 days.
