Khoren was born on 12 March, 2001 in the village of Nerkin Artik. He was the first child of the family.
“I was soaring in happiness. Khoren respected the elders from a young age. He had love for the motherland. He always said that he should become a hero of the nation. When we moved to Yerevan, he had only one thought in his head that he should study at the Vazgen Sargsyan Military Academy. I was strongly against it, there was fear in me. He didn’t go against my feeling, and was admitted to the Panos Terlemezyan State College of Fine Arts, he was a painter-sculptor,” his mother said.
When he was drafted into the army, his profession helped him a lot, he started updating maps.
“We went to the military unit on his birthday, we were already coming back, I asked my husband to stop at the top of Shushi and I started to cry involuntarily, it seemed to me that I was leaving Khoren there. I said to my husband, “It seems to me, I am leaving my child here and going, that’s how I felt.” How could I know that it should be like that, that was our last meeting,” the mother said.
